A journey through a hidden country. Where noone was allowed to go, Louis Palmer got the permissions and crossed Afghanistan during 18 days with his own car. He got incredible insights behind the scenes of an unknown land.

  After the war Louis Palmer returned to the country to see where his aid for a hospital has gone. He found a country between destruction and hope, and he took pictures of the people and the incredible scenery to raise even more money for a new school project.

  In 2003, for a third time, Louis Palmer travelled back to Afghanistan, but this time to lay the foundation for his school and to lead the first tourist group through this unknown country, in a period of time where things started to become even more dificult.

Louis Palmer initiated the rebuilding of the completly destroyed school in the mountain village of Arkandi, 40 km west from Kabul. Today more than 750 pupils go to school there and Louis is proud that he could contribute to the reconstruction of this beautiful country.
